Terms & Conditions


  1. Hangyo IceCreams Private Limited (“Hangyo” or “Company”) is running a series of contests (the “Contest(s)”) from March 11th, 2024, until midnight (Indian Standard Time) on March 29, 2024. 
  2. These Contest Terms and Conditions shall comprise, collectively of the ‘Contest Rules’ (set out in Section I below), and the ‘General Terms and Conditions’ (set out in Section II below), and shall hereinafter be collectively be referred to as the “Terms”.
  3. These Terms apply to every person (“Participant” or “You”) entering a Contest. Information on how to enter each Contest and prize(s) are published on Company’s Facebook Page and Instagram Page, and in Section I of these Terms.
  4. These Terms constitute a binding contract between the Company and each Participant. You hereby agree that by participating in any Contest, You expressly consent to, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If You are not agreeable to any of the terms, conditions, and provisions set out in these Terms, please do not click on the “accept” checkbox, and please do not participate in any Contest.
  5. In the event of a conflict between Contest rules set out in these Terms, and Contest rules published on the Company’s official social media accounts, the specific rules published by the Company’s official social media accounts will prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.

Contest Rules 

  1. Contests being conducted by Hangyo comprise of:
    1. Trivia Questions & Answers (“Trivia”); and 
    2. Watch Match with Your Friends (“WMWF”). 

  2. Contest Rules: Trivia

    1. In this Contest, questions related to the ‘Royal Challengers Bengaluru’ (RCB) franchise and/or any of its players will be posted on the Company’s Facebook Page and Instagram Page
    2. Each Participant can participate by posting a ‘comment’ with the correct answer to the question (set out in the social media post uploaded to the Company’s Facebook Page and Instagram Page). Rules and formats for comment answers will be specified in the applicable social media post. Comment answers must be submitted during the term of the Contest i.e. commencing on March 11, 2024 and ending before midnight (Indian Standard Time) on March 28, 2024. 
    3. Six (6) winners will be selected amongst all the correct answers to Contest questions. The decision of the Company as to winners of this Contest will be final, binding and non-contestable. Each winner of the Contest will receive official RCB merchandise. The prizes in the Contest may be subject to variation at the discretion of Hangyo, and any change will be final and binding upon every Participant who enters this Contest.
    4. Company will announce the winners of this Contest on its Instagram ‘stories’.
    5. Prizes for this Contest will be awarded to winning Participants after the completion of IPL, subject to Company’s receipt of the merchandise from RCB. 

  3. Contest Rules: WMWF

    1. In this Contest, a post announcing the giveaway of RCB home game tickets (for IPL matches played at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru) will be posted on Hangyo’s Facebook Page and Instagram Page
    2. Participants are required to follow the steps mentioned in Hangyo’s social media posts to be eligible for this prize. 
    3. Participants shall be eligible to participate in this Contest from March 22, 2024 until midnight (Indian Standard Time) on March 29, 2024. 
    4. Company shall decide (in its sole discretion) the category of seats/tickets provided to the winner(s) of this Contest.
    5. Winner(s) of this Contest shall (at their own cost and expense) make their travel, conveyance, and accommodation arrangements; the prize awarded by Hangyo for winners of this Contest shall be limited to RCB home game ticket(s) only. 
    6. Prizes for this Contest will be distributed physically or through an online method, as may be decided in Hangyo’s sole discretion, and communicated by Hangyo either: (i) directly to winner(s), or (ii) by posting on its official social media accounts.
    7. Prizes for this Contest shall be distributed prior to, or on the day of the relevant IPL match.

  4. Contest Rules: General

    1. Employees of the Company or their relatives are not eligible to participate in any Contest. 
    2. Prizes for all Contests will be given to the winner(s) as set out in these Terms, and on the Company’s official Facebook Page and/or Instagram Page. Each winner must accept his/her prize in that form. Under no circumstances will cash be given as an alternative. Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions in cash or otherwise, except at Company’s sole discretion. Company reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent value if a prize or a component of it cannot be awarded or utilised as described. 
    3. Hangyo reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries/applications, and the eligibility of Participants at any time during or after a Contest, to disqualify any entries and to not consider entries that are incomplete or illegible. In the event of any dispute concerning the eligibility of any Participant, Hangyo’s decision shall be final. 
    4. In the event a winning Participant does not acknowledge/accept/collect his/her prize within the timeline stated by the Company, such Participant shall forfeit the prize being awarded, and Company shall have the right to award the same prize(s) to other Participant(s).
    5. Company is not responsible for failure to contact any potential winner, and will not be responsible for contacting or awarding any prizes to any selected Participant that provides incorrect or incomplete information, or who does not respond to Company’s attempts to contact such Participant. Further, in no event shall Company be held liable for a prize if it does not reach the winner or recipient for reasons beyond Company’s control.
    6. The Company's decisions regarding each Contest and winner selection are final and binding.
    7. You shall not, under any circumstance, change, alter, or modify your Facebook or Instagram username / handle during the period commencing from your participation (in any manner) in any Contest, and for a period of six (6) months thereafter. 
    8. Winners of Contest prizes are expected to provide Company with photographs, videos, etc. of their winnings from a Contest, including without limit photographs and videos of themselves inside the Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), or otherwise utilising or displaying RCB merchandise (as applicable). Company shall have the right, in perpetuity, to display, and use such materials in any medium (including without limit, on its social media, website(s), etc. free of charge and in any manner Company sees fit.
    9. Company reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who tampers with the entry/application/process for a Contest or acts or omits to act in a manner that is not in accordance with these Terms or who has, in the opinion of Company, engaged in conduct in participating in a Contest which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Contest and/or Company. Hangyo reserves the right to disqualify a winner if it becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this Paragraph.
    10. The winner(s) of a Contest will be liable for any taxes, duties and/or surcharges that may be levied on prizes awarded, and for any expenses not expressly specified in the description of the prizes.

  5. Contest entries, comments, Materials (defined in Paragraph 7 of Section II below), (whether in written, audio, electronic or visual form, or a combination of those) or any photographs, video and/or film footage and/or audio recordings taken by or of Participants and their guest(s) in relation or pursuant to a Contest (including winning such Contest) is the property of Company, and Company shall have the right, in perpetuity, to use such entries and Materials in any medium (including without limit, on its social media website(s), platform(s)/page(s)/account(s)  free of charge and in any manner it sees fit. All present and future intellectual property rights in any such Material become and remain the sole property of Company. The Participant hereby expressly, irrevocably and unconditionally waives, to the maximum extent possible, all moral rights to which he/she may now or at any time be entitled in respect of any video, photograph, film or other document protected by intellectual property rights. Without prejudice to the foregoing, the Participant shall not assert against Hangyo, or its directors, officers, or employees any claim for violation or infringement of his/her moral rights, if any. 
  6. Participants must understand that some parts of a Contest may be photographed, recorded and/or filmed for television and other social or other media. Participants who win prizes must also be prepared to accept any media attention subsequently generated for them. Company shall not be obliged to make any such use of names and/or images of the winner(s) and their guest(s). The rights to any images from any Contest shall be owned and held by Company. All rights and formats for each Contest are owned exclusively by Company. No correspondence will be entered into with any Participant, unless Company is required to enter into correspondence with Participants selected as potential prize winners.

General Terms and Conditions

  1. While the Contests are in the context of Season 17 of the Indian Premier League (“IPL”), and are being run on Facebook and Instagram, it is hereby clarified that the Contests (and participation therein) are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta/Facebook, Instagram, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), any IPL franchisees/teams, or any other third-party(s). Company is the sole administrator, operator, and owner of the Contests.
  2. You may participate in a Contest only if You are: (a) aged eighteen (18) years and above; (b) competent to contract in accordance with the Indian Contract Act, 1872; and (c) a resident of, and physically present in India for the entire duration of the Contests. 
  3. Failure to comply with any of these Terms (including Contest rules and instructions) will disqualify any Participant from continuing to take part in any Contest and such Participant’s participation will be invalid. Company retains the sole discretion to refuse Participants the right to participate if it decides (in its sole discretion) that these Terms are being violated.
  4. Company reserves the right to change any details of any Contest, including but not limited to amending these Terms, the type of Contest(s), and the prizes/awards for the Contest(s). Company reserves the right to amend, temporarily suspend or withdraw any Contest in its sole and absolute discretion.
  5. Company shall not be liable to award/provide the prize(s) and/or declare the winners of the Contest due to any cause beyond its reasonable control, including without limit, acts of God, changes in applicable law, insurrection or civil disorder, religious strife, war or military operations, terrorist act, partial or total strikes, either internal or external, lock-out, epidemic, pandemic, lock-downs (whether or not officially declared), blockage of means of transport or of supplies, national or local emergency, earthquake, fire, storm, flood, water damage, governmental, regulatory or legal restrictions, and/or acts or omissions of persons for whom Company is not responsible.
  6. By entering a Contest, Participants agree to hold harmless Company, its directors, officers, employees, and Contest judges, against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described) with respect to or arising out of: (a) Participant’s participation in a Contest; (b) the receipt or use of Contest prize(s) awarded to Participant; and (c) the administration of any Contest and the distribution of prizes awarded. Participants hereby release, waive and discharge any and all claims of damage, loss or causes of action (including negligence) including but not limited to loss or damage to person or property which the Participant, his/her guests, representatives, or assignees may have, suffer or which may hereinafter accrue to the Participant or as a result of the Participant’s participation in any Contest or use of the prizes awarded. 
  7. The Participant warrants that he/she is the sole owner of any and all materials submitted by him/her as part of the Contest, and of his/her contact details and social media handle/username (“Materials), and that neither the Materials nor their exhibition or exploitation by Company or third-parties authorised by the Company will infringe any rights of any third party. The Participant shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Company, its directors, officers, employees, and Contest judges from any and all liability, loss, costs, damage, judgment, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) resulting from or arising in any way out of any such claims by any third parties and/or which are based upon, or are the result of any breach of the warranties in this Paragraph.
  8. You acknowledge and agree that the decisions of Company with respect to all aspects of each Contest are final.
  9. Company shall not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, falsified, delayed, incomplete or destroyed Contest entries and all such entries are void and may be disqualified at any time. Company does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of Contest entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, lost delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omissions, interruptions, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
  10. Company is not liable for any problems, errors, or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with any Contest, including but not limited to, any damage to the Participant’s computer or other technical device, or software, as a result of the Participant’s participation in a Contest. Company shall not be liable in any way for any failure or breach by any party in connection with any Contest, prize or prizes and accepts no responsibility for any loss suffered by a Participant arising from any Contest, prize or prizes.
  11. Company collects Participants’ personal information in order to conduct a Contest. If the information requested is not provided, the Participant is not eligible to participate in a Contest. By entering a Contest, unless otherwise advised, the Participant also agrees that Company may use this information, or disclose it to other organisations or entities or individuals that may use it, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the Participant. Participants’ personal information may be disclosed to government authorities and winners’ names may be published. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to Rachna Kamath, Assistant Manager at customercare@hangyo.in. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information about the manner in which Company uses Participants’ personal data. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
  12. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions, which shall remain in full force and effect. Indian laws shall be exclusively applicable to any and all disputes arising out of or in connection with any Contest or these Terms. Courts in Mangalore, India shall have sole jurisdiction over any and all disputes arising out of or in connection with a Contest, these Terms, and the Privacy Policy.
  13. Winners have to acknowledge the DM they receive right after winner announcement within 24 hours to be eligible for the prize.
